Drug Therapy

Home |

A variety of drugs are used in the treatment of CAD. Some of the common ones include:

  • nitrates
  • beta-blockers
  • calcium-channel blockers.

More details about these drug classes can be found below.

Sometimes these drugs will be used alone (as monotherapy) or as a combination of two or three of these drugs, depending on the specific condition being treated and the response of different patients to different drugs. Other drugs may also be added to the therapy, including: anticoagulants, cholesterol-lowering agents and diuretics.
